• Kettle Maple Bacon – That’s so Sweet of You

I waited so long and was sooooooooooooo excited to finally get to try these! Once I got to North America a while ago, I was finally able to fulfill my dream. To be completely honest, I expected a bit more from the product. I had the chips twice, but haven’t changed my mind.

The company’s take on the popular sweet & salty concept is a little bit meh. I loved the smokiness, but the sweetness was too strong for my potato chip tastes. They reminded me of Honey BBQ flavor. I prefer the latter, to be honest. I don’t really have that sweet tooth, you know? More bacon and less maple, please! I wonder how other brands succeeded in imitating the flavor of this classic, yet very risky combination…

Overall, it’s still a snack worth both trying and writing about. The famous crunch and thick cut of the Kettle brand never disappoints and is still one the best ones throughout the entire potato chip scene.

    My rating: 7/10.

  • Kettle Buffalo Bleu – Well Done As Always

Kettle chips have already been featured on my site and Instagram account on many occasions, and for a good reason: they’re usually mouthwatering…

At first, you’re hit with a mild kick of spiciness… But then, out of the blue, comes the Bleu! To be honest, I wasn’t sure what to expect. In a blind test I would fail. My guess would probably be ‘Smoky BBQ’ or an interesting (weird) version of ‘Sweet Chili’. The chips still taste great though and that’s all that matters. They’re also super thick and crunchy which makes them perfect for dipping. Well done as always, Kettle.

    Bought in Los Angeles, California.

    My rating: 8.5/10.

  • Kettle Krinkle Cut Zesty Ranch – Ranch Done Right

Kettle is one of my favorite potato chip brands, so when buying these, I was pretty sure I’m not going to be disappointed. And I wasn’t! What I like about the brand is that, while it’s still junk food, it’s not as junky as per say Lay’s. This means the chance to suffer from junk food hangover the next day is somewhat low.

As they write on their website, you don’t even need a dip to accompany these, it’s kind of there already. “Not your typical ranch experience, Zesty Ranch is savory with a peppery kick, followed by lightly tangy sour cream layered on the ultimate crunchy chip,” says Carolyn Richards, Kettle Brand chief flavor architect. “This is ranch done right.” I couldn’t agree more.

Bought and eaten in Gardena, CA.

    My rating: 8/10.
